Ladder Logic

I'm in love with this idea! And, so disappointed that I, being married to a painter with more than one ladder laying around, didn't think of it first!

DIYlife.com recently posted an article about "taking an old ladder to new heights". The full article can be seen here.

Recycling has become an art form. Transforming no-longer-used items into something again, not only useful, but uniquely beautiful!

I remember when Steve was working on an older home and brought home to Denise an old window frame from the house. They put a scenic print behind the glass, and voila! They had a beautiful picture for their living room!

Again, why didn't I think of that?

My son worked with my painter husband one summer and commented on how cool it would be to reuse the house shutters to make a room divider like one he'd seen at a local antique store.

Awesome idea!

So when your remodeling your home this spring and summer, rummaging through tag sale items or shopping at Village Treasures, be sure not to toss out or pass over those items that can be recycled into something you can make uniquely yours!

And then please pass those ideas along to me because I apparently have no vision of my own.

I use an orchard ladder to hang vintage hats from.

Several of our customers have used the shutter room divider idea. They have also been used as displays for trade/home shows. If you take a slat out of two (in corresponding places) you can slip a board between and make a shelf for your goods.

We have several ladders, shutters and window frames in stock!

I'd love to see a picture of that "shutter shelf" idea, D. Using a smaller shutter, would it be useful in a bathroom for towels, etc? Hmmm.... I'm trying to visualize...

Again, no vision! :) Help me!
